SUB CODE 48 AGRICULTURE ELECTRIFICATION
This class will focus on the application of electricity in the rural and residential setting. The class will deal with power sources, cables, switches and resistance devices. Time in this class will be split between the classroom and shop. Classroom assignments will be reinforces with actual, hands on shop application. Time will also be spent on exploration of the careers within this field. Classroom and final shop projects will be graded on a straight percentage basis and the shop work will be graded on a finished project basis and a weekly shop work grade.
Weekly shop work will be graded as follows… (4 points per day)
2 points for daily progress (2 pts. = great, 1 point = average, 0 = poor or
1 point for shop safety (all shop safety rules apply, safety glasses must be
worn at all times when in the shop)
1 point for shop clean-up
All late work will be docked 10% per day up to 50% of the grade.
F Below 60%
This is primarily as shop class. All school handbook rules apply.
The students will be required to wear safety glasses in the shop.
Areas of emphasis:
The students will be wiring everything from walls to tractors and cars following the National Electrical Codes (NEC)
